Looking for something fun to do, close to home this winter? Camp Newaygo is hosting fun, hands-on, and affordable workshops every Thursday this winter. Starting in January, come to camp at 5:30 pm on Thursday for tasting and making freezer meals, exploring different art mediums, learning a handy how-to skill, or discovering all that is still happening in nature during the winter. For just $10 per person, it’s less than a trip to the movies or into the “big city” and you’ll gain new skills and friends!
*REGISTRATION DETAILS COMING SOON*
Freezer Meals Workshops (Jan 9, Feb 6, Mar 6)
Enjoy a tasting of 4 different freezer meals with Whitney, Camp’s Catering and Events Director. For just $6 per portion, select how many portions of each meal you’d like to make to stock your freezer for the month! Meals include favorites that you can drop into the crockpot or pop into the oven for a quick, weeknight dinner.
Art Class Workshops (Jan 16, Feb 13, Mar 14-16 Retreat)
Led by one of Camp Newaygo’s most creative team members, Lilka, explore a variety of art mediums. Each week we will focus on a specific medium with a guest instructor and end with everyone creating their own, unique piece. March’s workshop will be and even more immersive event, with a two day overnight.
How-To Workshops (Jan 23, Feb 20, Mar 20)
Liliana, Camp’s Adventure Program Director, has learned a number of how-to skills working at camp and is excited to share them with you! Each How-To Thursday will explore a common household challenge and “how-to” fix or improve an issue. Don’t miss this chance to learn a practical skill in a supportive environment.
Nature Explorers Workshops (Jan 30, Feb 27, Mar 27)
Just because it is cold outside does not mean that the natural world isn’t alive and thriving. You will want to bundle up for this one as you join Katie, our Community Program Director, exploring the woods, lakeshore, and everything in between. Don’t worry, there will also be plenty of time to warm up indoors by the fire with some hot chocolate.
