Patrick Roscoe was hired on at Camp Newaygo this month, as a year-round Operations and Communications Director.
Patrick is originally from Missouri City, Texas. He has a degree in Organizational Leadership from Fort Hays State University. Patrick’s camping experience includes YMCA camps in Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri. He has worked as a camp counselor, outdoor educator, and guest services coordinator.
He heard about Camp Newaygo through a job advertisement with the American Camp Association. Patrick’s role focus on the logistic operations of camp year-round and the management of our camp marketing and communication. He will build our community events, volunteer network, and local partnerships year-round.
This summer, Patrick will work with daily volunteers, live-in volunteers, and the operational components of camp (including making sure the speed boat always has gas, fishing class always has worms, and supporting check-in and out days).
His favorite Camp Song is “flea, fly”
His favorite part of the job, so far, has been the opportunity for collaboration and openness to creative problem solving.
Patrick is enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and organized.
He came to work at Camp Newaygo, because he felt connected to the mission, vision – and community.
